The Portable Veblen by Elizabeth McKenzie

“To be squirrelly is to be crazy, nutty, weird.” – p.312

Curious book reviewer says:Β 4.8/5 πŸΏπŸ’ƒπŸ»

This book definitely wins the “Most Curious Book” award for the month of July. I was head over heels in love with it, this quirky and squirrelly novel! πŸ’•

Veblen is going to marry Paul, but one furry morning 🌾 a squirrel tells her not to. Already from a family of nut cases 🌰, this “gift” that Veblen has in listening to squirrels isn’t something people would accept. Especially Paul.Β

Paul is in the medical profession πŸ‘·πŸΌπŸ’‰ He explains symptoms away with science and logic… Until he meets his match πŸ‘ŒπŸ» A rampant little squirrel and a dead man named Thorstein Veblen ⚰

After the cute but strange warning from the squirrel, many things go unexpectedly wrong. Will Paul and Veblen ever reach the altar? πŸ‘« It’s a man πŸ‘±πŸΌ versus squirrel dance throughout the book πŸ’ƒπŸ»Β

I loved Veblen. Her quirkiness and laugh out loud 😹 way of thinking and doing things are just so adorable. Through the eyes of Veblen, we see ticklish love ❀️ and affection 🌹 for everything around her πŸŒΏπŸΏπŸ‡πŸŒ»πŸ¦„and grow to love them all too!Β
